This Pedestrian Bridge at Moran State Park on Orcas Island was originally built in the 1930’s by the Conservation Corps. Over the years, weather and rot slowly deteriorated the bridge. It was replaced once in 1970, and now it needed replacement again in 2003.

Shearer Design provided engineering for this unique cantilever log structure and developed new weather resistant details to extend the life of this key attraction in the State park. Our engineers worked with the State maintenance crews to rebuild the bridge with historic accurate details.
